If you are buying a home, it is important to
establish your relationship with an attorney prior to entering
into a contract to purchase. This will allow you to focus on the
important issues during the attorney review and home inspection
contingencies.
It is
also important to note that all real estate contract do not contain
attorney review and inspection contingencies. More importantly, such
contingencies may be limited in scope. Although, it is common that
residential contract contain the said contingencies, there are many
variations of residential contracts and not all may serve your
best interest. The only way to know for sure, is talk to a
lawyer prior to signing anything.
At our
firm, the initial consultation is free. In fact, most our
residential real estate representation is set at a fixed fee.
The earlier you engage us, the better you will be represented.
Prior
to closing is the right time to start thinking about estate planning
to develop strategies that best protect the real estate
that you will own. Often times, people wait too long to make
such plans, and their property susceptible to attack in the
event of a law suit. There are many times that people get sued for
actions that they never intended to commit, like car accidents.
Without the proper estate plan your property will be at risk.
